Hiyama Eisuke, a struggling actor in Tokyo, possesses a unique but troublesome ability-he can hear the voices of spirits who died untimely deaths. Despite his efforts to make it big, his career stalls, and his ability forces him into a cycle of poverty and constant relocation due to the tormenting voices.
One day, after being tormented by another haunted property, Hiyama visits "Amami Real Estate" to complain. The president, Amami Goro, aware of Hiyama’s ability, offers him a lucrative part-time job: to live in a luxury apartment room where a woman committed suicide five years ago. The property has a dark history, with 10 previous tenants becoming mentally unstable and one even attempting suicide. Hiyama is tasked with proving the room is safe and "laundering" its image.
Despite initial hesitation, Hiyama is swayed by the high pay and accepts the offer. However, upon moving in, he hears the voice of the deceased woman, who shockingly claims, "I was murdered!" This revelation sets Hiyama on a path to uncover the truth behind her death, intertwining his fate with the mysterious forces surrounding the property.
